Bench Repair Technician

Bench Repair Technician – Full Time

As a bench repair technician, you will be responsible for testing and repairing a wide array of industrial drive products, equipment and parts in compliance with Excel Industrial Electronics’ procedures and the manufacturers’ specifications. The successful candidate will troubleshoot service and repair the equipment to a satisfactory operating condition.

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Conduct diagnostic and performance tests of components and equipment.
• Rebuild and repair defective or damaged components of robotic and metro mechanical devices and systems.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and drawings.
• Continue education regarding automation and controls functions and updates.
• Notify manager daily on all projects, with regards to project status, completion time, and any problems that may have arisen during the course of the project.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs and inventory.
• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and following prescribed safety regulations.
• Deliver all products as directed to regional project managers and warehouse employees.

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• High School graduate with a minimum of 5 years of Electrical/Electronic Technical Post High School Education
• Ability to trace wiring diagrams
• Experience with computers, networking and Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to think creatively and solve problems
• Talent for providing excellent customer-service
• Ability to communicate effectively orally or in writing with customers, management, colleagues and other technicians
• Knowledge of electrical engineering practices and principles
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret drawings, specifications and schematics
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
